I spend my time & energy delivering Straight-Up, Self-Sustaining Enterprise Development. (“SUSSED”, geddit?) That usally takes the form of “business advisory, programme & event management services”, and a common theme is SME’s and emerging, new and growing businesses. My current focus is working with local technology communities on innovation and skills development.
The current social & digital media phenomenon is another fascination… I’m intrigued by the rapid changes in communications technology that is altering the way we receive and share information. Most days I’m a consumer and observer and advisor on this stuff, but other days issues inspire me to leap into the blogosphere, twitterverse and virtual networks. And every day I try to nurture real life connections to my local community, too.
In the past, I’ve worked with most industries, and provided information & connections for topics like export market development, R&D funding, startup, high growth, strategic and operational planning… if I don’t know the answer to your business pain, challenge, or opportunity, I’ll do my best to connect you to someone who does.
I try to stay plugged in to a wide range of people. This means I don’t need to know everything about business development, I just need to know a lot of experts. It IS about the know-how and the know-what, but what I try and know is the “know-who” can help!
Before doing this stuff, I absorbed a range of experience across businesses big & small, mine & other people’s, private & public sector, here & overseas. I’ve lived & worked in Europe, Asia and North America, but Aotearoa is and will always be home.
